Pierce/King County Market Update – January 2019

Want a snapshot of Pierce and King County’s real estate market at the close of January 2019? Keep reading!

2019 has started off on the slower side in both Pacific Northwest counties. We’re seeing that Pierce County has an average sales prices increase of just over 11%, compared to King County’s decreased average sales price of almost 3%. King County saw a significant increase in homes sitting on the market with a drop in closed sales, despite the influx of new listings. Though most of Pierce County’s numbers remained virtually unchanged, there was a dramatic reduction in closed sales, which was double that of King County’s.

Another staggering statistic, King County inventory of homes on the market had more than a 100% increase. This makes sense given the county’s reported 51.5% increase in days on market.

Overall, closed sales are down in both counties and King County experienced somewhat dramatic changes compared to it’s neighboring county.

Stay tuned for next months market update!
